DWERFT is the currently largest German media research project which manages all metadata that has been created throughout the processes involved along the entire media value chain and is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The five project partners, DRA, filmwerte, Interlake, Rotor Film and transfermedia offer semantic technology solutions that enable production metadata to be re-used automatically for the cross-platform distribution processes. With an Ontology specifically designed for serving this purpose, the project revolutionises the future of media production, by gathering, structuring, and interlinking all metadata created throughout the entire production process. The modular system architecture allows not only large media houses, but also small production companies to optimise their daily business.

filmwerte offers a self-developed white-label solution for the management and operation of video-on-demand services for various use cases. In Germany the Cinemalovers project uses this technical solution and enables community cinemas and festivals to operate an additional digital movie theater. The Filmhaus Nuremberg and the Arsenal Berlin, for example, take advantage of this.
